E-Wired Empathy · The story behind the programme

THE FERMI
PARADOX

Memory, place and the future.
A musical conversation across worlds.

01 · A continuing journey

Since 2021.
Open to what comes next.

E-Wired Empathy began as a musical journey and continues as an evolving ensemble.

Its new phase takes that journey towards an increasingly international and contemporary dimension. Art rock, electronics, world improvisation and traditional music coexist in a repertoire shaped by the musicians who bring it to life.

Co-founder Luca Nobis and producer Giovanni Amighetti are part of a line-up that connects very different musical histories. The performance makes room for both those individual identities and the possibilities of playing together.

02 · The Fermi Paradox

A question
of the future.

Music and science meet in a reflection on the future of humanity.

The Fermi Paradox is one of the ensemble’s two principal narrative works and the guiding theme of this programme. It gives musicians from different backgrounds a shared space in which to explore, respond and imagine.

Listen for the meeting of electric textures, acoustic instruments and voices — the musical encounter at the heart of the project.

03 · City

Literature opens
another door.

Inspired by the work of Clifford D. Simak, City forms the second main thread of the developing repertoire.

Together, City and The Fermi Paradox give each concert its larger narrative shape. Between them, the ensemble moves through Mediterranean musical interludes, making connections between the programme’s different worlds.

04 · Mediterranean interludes

Memory carried
in breath and sound.

Regional traditions enter the flow of the concert as living musical languages.

Southern Italian singing, Romagna’s clarinet tradition and the sound of traditional winds and bagpipe bring a strong sense of place into the ensemble.

These interludes create fresh connections within the performance. Their instruments and voices participate in the same open conversation as the electronics, guitars, violin and rhythm section.
