The album

Cinematic folk.
A voice rooted
in soul.

Humour Me marks a clear step into folk for a singer whose voice has always carried the weight and warmth of gospel.

Developed in close collaboration with artist Sam Walker, the new record brings FitzRoy’s songwriting into sharper focus. It follows the gospel, soul, jazz and folk of A Good Woman, opening a more cinematic setting around her voice.

Across four albums, she has moved from the New Orleans sessions of Skyline towards an increasingly distinctive musical language. Humour Me is the next chapter in that journey.
