Freshlyground are finally back. The band that once became the sound of a new South Africa – with hits like „Doo Be Doo“, an MTV Award, and their historic collaboration on „Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)“ – returns with a completely renewed energy and a powerful new voice at the front.

Freshlyground were never just a pop band. They became a symbol for a country trying to rebuild itself after Apartheid – a Rainbow Nation searching for a new sound and a new sense of togetherness. Their music brought people together across generations, backgrounds, skin colour and belief.

Now the story continues with Mbali Makhoba, an outstanding young singer who steps up as the new lead voice of Freshlyground. At just 20 years old she brings a fresh, soulful presence that can speak to different generations at once – honouring the band’s history while opening a new chapter.

Bombino is one of the most acclaimed Tuareg guitarists and live performers of our time. His distinctive blend of desert blues, rock and hypnotic groove has taken him from Agadez to the world – from intimate clubs to major festivals and iconic stages.

Fantastic news: the Grammy nominated "Sultan of Shred" (NYT) and inventor of "Tuareggae" will be available for concert bookings with a brand new album. The first single will be released soon.
