Kefaya were formed by London-based musicians Al MacSween, Giuliano Modarelli, and Joost Hendrickx. Known for their high-energy live performances and genre-blending sound they are fascinating audiences all over the world.
Following the success of their debut album „Radio International“ (Songlines Music Award 2017 for Best Newcomer) Kefaya teamed up with Hazara folk singer Elaha Soroor in 2019 and released „Songs of Our Mothers“ - a ground breaking album that won the Songlines Fusion Award. In 2026 they will tour with a new album !

Elaha Soroor, a powerful voice for human rights and the women of Afghanistan, rose to fame on Afghan Star (Afghanistan´s version of Pop Idol). After receiving death threats for her outspoken views against sexism and injustice, she sought asylum in the UK were she met Kefaya, sparking an extraordinary artistic collaboration.
